Some stories stay with us

The adult remembers.
The child discovers.
Together, they create a new story.

There are films we discovered in childhood that grew up with us. We remember their characters, their scenes and, above all, how they made us feel.

At Cuentos con Alegría, that emotion becomes a new adventure created for the language, sensitivity and imagination of childhood.

Our origin

A little girl, a question and an editorial vision.

Cuentos con Alegría began with the arrival of a little girl and the wish to share with her the films, stories and emotions that formed part of her family’s memories.

That wish gave rise to a publishing house that transforms memories into completely original children’s works: its own characters, plots, texts, illustrations and universes.

“Sharing what we love is also a way of telling children who we are.”

The editorial team

People who create, illustrate and care for every story.

Translation and cultural connection

Every translation grows from love, respect and care for a language, a culture and the emotional bond passed from one generation to the next.

We also work with

Families, schools, bookshops, libraries, foundations, hospitals and institutions.

We create proposals for those who want to share more than a reading experience: a part of their own story.

When I found out that Luca y su fiesta grew from the feeling of Home Alone, I was thrilled to read it with my children. To them, Luca is a brand-new character; to me, the story brings back that mix of adventure, imagination and Christmas that marked my own childhood.

Mª José CalderónMother · Luca y su fiesta

Home Alone was one of the films I watched most as a child, so I loved finding a way to bring that feeling to my son. The story doesn't repeat the film: it creates a new, age-appropriate adventure that keeps that same spirit of imagination, family and courage.

Ramón MorenoFather · Luca y su fiesta

Luca y su fiesta has connected with the children and with their families too. The little ones discover a fun story that builds confidence and independence, while many parents recognise the emotion of a film tied to their own childhood.

Nursery schoolLuca y su fiesta

Luca y su fiesta works really well in the classroom because of how it builds independence, listening and self-confidence. It's a lovely resource for connecting school and home through shared conversations, memories and experiences.

Top Gun was one of those films that fascinated me as a girl: the music, the planes, that feeling that anything was possible. Reading Top Fly with my son let me share that emotion without telling him the same story. It was so much more than reading a story together.

Consuelo GallardoMother · Top Fly

As soon as I saw Top Fly I thought: we have to read this one together. Top Gun marked my childhood, and it moved me to share that passion for flying, pushing yourself and chasing dreams with my son.

Guillem MercadalFather · Top Fly

Top Fly has sparked a lot of interest among the children and their families. The little ones enjoy the planes, the adventure and the challenges, while parents recognise feelings tied to a film from their own youth.

Nursery schoolTop Fly

Top Fly combines adventure, emotion and values such as perseverance, cooperation and confidence. It lets children discover an original story while families share memories linked to the films of their own childhood.
